A song to suit my mood...

This song is just so awesome. Always puts me in a good mood, and suits my traveling state of mind right now.

La Dolce Vita

I think that coming to Italy will definitely be the best decision I have made in my life thus far. I've only been here about two days, and everything about this city and about the country amazes me. People live to live here, imagine that? I admire the fact that dinners are to be enjoyed, and the average day includes a nap and shopping. I may never come back to the States! My roommate and I spent the entire day grocery shopping, and exploring the streets along the Arno river, the markets and just soaking up Florence's beauty. Of course we had to pay a visit to the H&M which happens to be about a thousand times better than the H&M on Michigan Ave.

London Inspiration

I decided to create some looks over my time here inspired by iconic London landmarks and events.
First up is the London Double Decker bus.  I decided to go with a simple everyday outfit that would be perfect for London.  If you are ever coming to London, they aren't lying...expect rain and lots! So of course Hunter rain boots are a MUST.  I paired this stunning red trench with a simple grey t-shirt dress for comfort yet still being cute.  To top it all off I added a pair of topshop's iconic heart tights.  These add flair and fun to the outfit.  The London Double Deckers are a staple here and so are each of these pieces!

Mind The Gap

If you are ever in London and are looking for great finds, steals, and deals then the place to go would be Brick Lane on a Sunday.  Not to mention it is FILLED with locals in stunning street style.  I was especially influenced by the grafitti that filled the background of most of my photos.

Here was one of my favorites from the day...

2011 Obsessions: Thus Far

So I know we aren't even two weeks into the new year, but as I eagerly await my european adventures, and get to hear all about Anna's, I've begun having a few fashion and beauty obsessions. Here they are:

1. Leopard. I know leopard print has been all over the runways in the last year or so, but I am not even close to being sick of it. I love leopard in dresses, blouses, handbags, and especially shoes. I recently picked these awesome zipper wedges up from H&M, and I can't wait to pair them with tights while its still chilly, and then wear them well into summer with bare legs and feet!

2. Red lipstick. Fuschia lipstick is supposedly the new color of the season for Spring, but I have always, always stuck to the nude and glossy lip as my go-to. I've always been afraid to go bold until a recent trip to the MAC counter where the adorable makeup artist suggested a bright red. This red (Russian Red) is phenomenal. It looks good on almost anyone, and I swear it makes my teeth look whiter. Red lipstick is such a fun and unexpected way to add a pop of color to a neutral ensemble, or just make any outfit a bit edgier.

 3.  The Row's pre-fall collection. Being a huge MaryKate and Ashley Olsen fan as is, it is expected that I love anything they design. Their Elizabeth and James line is fantastic, but there is something so androgynously sexy about this Pre-Fall collection that I think is really wearable, chic and very Olsen-esque.

4. Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere. (www.cupcakesandcashmere.com). Not only does Emily share a fantastic name with MWAH, but she manages to create an adorable, readable, addictive blog that showcases her effortless style, along with her hobby of cooking and baking. She includes fun and easy recipes, along with her current fashion obsessions and some daily outfit posts. LOVE her!

London's Calling

I'm FINALLY HERE!
London is buzzing with energy and I am IN LOVE.
First things first, walking out at Heathrow airport is like walking into a fairytale. I had to storm through a crowd of professional cricket players...yes cricket and stumbled around a fashion mecca.  Pre-teen boys were wearing harem pants and women of all ages were clashing every part of their outfit yet looking so put together. The radio in the taxi was blaring about the football teams (as in soccer) and how David Beckham ruined his career by going to the states (sorry!) I looked anxiously out the window to a sea of stores, billboards, and gorgeous architecture.
No street style pictures today as I was just trying to survive in all the hustle. Stay on the look out for some great London outfits since I will be going to Camden market together.
